1. Graphene is capable of growing on different metals. If metals are capable of being a host for carbon then copper would be an eligible host due to it's high electrical and thermal conductive properties.
2. The independent variables would be the amount of copper and hydrogen used in the synthesis process. The dependent variable would be the amount of graphene actually produced.
3. the science fair project has to do with producing graphene sheets on cheaper substances. Graphene sheets are used to make nanotubes, which are part of my project that is nanotech,
4. The experiment will be performed at Pomona College. My service learning person will be doing the experiment with the labs and facilities at the school.
5. The science experiment will fall under Physics.
